Care coordination – Our care coordinators are registered nurses who help you navigate your care across the system. They answer your questions, connect you with other services, coordinate appointments, and help you prepare for and recover from surgery. They are your single point of contact, so you can focus on what’s most important – your treatment and recovery.
We offer coordinated visits for imaging, labs, and consults with the care team, so you don’t have to travel to Minneapolis more than necessary before your surgery. And, when possible, we offer virtual visits with testing arranged locally.
Pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation – Depending on where a tumor is located, individuals with skull base conditions may have problems with hearing, vision, smell, taste, balance, or facial movement. We offer a skilled team of rehabilitation specialists, as well as balance therapy, audiology, facial nerve clinics, and other services to maximize your quality of life before and after skull base surgery.
Recovery and support – Our relationship with you doesn’t end with the surgery. Throughout the process, you will receive timely and personalized care with the support of our nurse care coordinators and dedicated scheduling team. We provide a range of supportive services, and we continue to follow up with you over the long term.
After surgery, our team follows up and connects you to postsurgical rehabilitation if needed. For ongoing care and long-term tumor monitoring, our team can coordinate ongoing care with local providers and provide in-person and virtual follow-up care.
“Having a physician who truly cares makes all the difference,” said Bridget. “Not only does it make the experience easier, but it also speaks volumes about the human you are too. I am forever grateful for Dr. Rubel and the ENT team at the University of Minnesota.”

"I had a great experience with Dr. Godse and Dr. Venteicher. I am a very worrisome individual, and I tend to read into the worst-case scenarios online, but the expertise, personability, and professionalism from the team at the University of Minnesota eased any of my anxieties. I am extremely grateful for Dr. Godse & Dr. Venteicher."
